The Bishop Crew were laid to rest with a full military caisson funeral. S/Sgt Joseph J. Karaso and 2nd Lt Arthur W Luce had individual burials at the same time.

The band can be seen through the countless graves. It was as if their music was played not only to the Bishop Crew but to all laid to rest.

Many of the mourners chose to walk behind the caisson, a distance of a mile and a half.
